A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO WMAS JUNIOR SQUAD
As chair of EMAS I would like to offer my sincere apologies to all the Archers who attended the Inter-Regional Competition on 21/9/2025 at Bowmen of Glen AC.
After an excellent day of shooting under the almost ideal conditions, the day was later marred by a major error in scoring which was not discovered until a couple of days after the event.
Though the Senior scores and the Individual Junior scores were correct, the error meant that the rightful winners, WMAS Juniors, were not recognised as such and the trophy was incorrectly awarded to the EMAS Juniors.
As soon as I was made aware of the error, I took steps to rectify the situation by re-engraving the trophy to WMAS Juniors and ordering the special wooden medals which will all be forwarded to the WMAS Team Manager. These will be presented to the WMAS Juniors at some point by the TM, so that WMAS Juniors can have the glory that they so richly deserve, that I’m deeply sorry that they did not get on the day.
I hope that WMAS Juniors and their parent/guardians accept this apology from myself and on behalf of everyone at EMAS.
Each EMAS Junior Squad member has received an email from me with an apology and an explanation of the situation. I have since received emails back from my Juniors sending their Congratulations to WMAS Juniors and they look forward to the return match next year. I also send my Congratulations too for an excellent win.
I would just like to add that steps are being taken to ensure that this is prevented from happening again.
Once again, please accept my sincere and deepest apology to you all.
Caroline Cater
EMAS Chair.
